Food Distribution
With Edgewood Community Farm’s open harvest policy, 100% of the food we grow is donated to the community. We produced at least 2,000 pounds of produce in 2024, including tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers.
We periodically harvest produce and stock it in the farm pantry fridge (located on the right-hand side under the shelter) for anyone to take. Community members are welcome to take advantage of our open harvest policy to self-pick or take from the pantry fridge during farm hours; no registration or prior notice required.
Keep an eye out on our Instagram account for harvest alerts, where we’ll let you know what’s in season and ready to pick up.
As part of our commitment to reducing food waste and increasing food security in D.C.’s Ward 5, a food desert, we’re proud to partner with ReDelicious, D.C.’s food lab co-op. Each Sunday, from 3:30-5 p.m., ReDelicious redistributes prepared food, produce, and baked goods from farmers markets and bakeries. All are welcome to come pick up free food and join the community.
