What We Do
-
Food Distribution
During harvest seasons, we will be donating all of the produce grown to the Edgewood community, our members, and local nonprofits and mutual aid groups. If you are interested in partnering with us, please contact us.
-
Workshops and Trainings
Throughout the year, the farm hosts a variety of workshops and trainings, with topics including pickling, mushrooms, strawberries, tea making, wreath making, and more. Read more about our workshop lineup here.
-
Compost Collection
As part of our commitment to sustainability and regenerative agriculture, we accept kitchen scraps for composting. Read more about how to compost and what we accept here.
-
Leaf Collection
Edgewood Community Farm runs a leaf collection program to turn shredded leaves into mulch for the farm. We invite neighbors to drop off theirs bagged leaves next to our compost pallets at the farm, 2304 2nd St. NE, and we will take it from there! Please contact us when you will be dropping off the bags and how many. Please leaves only; no branches or other landscaping debris.
-
Neighborhood Beautification
As part of our commitment to the local community, Edgewood Community Farm works with longtime and new neighbors to beautify and clean up the neighborhood. As part of this effort, in 2023 we cleaned up and converted the corner curb on 2nd and Adams St. NE into a de facto public park, including donating benches, so longtime neighbors and community members have a safe space to congregate, meet new neighbors, and provide a beautified area as a backdrop to the Edgewood memorial to Jaquan Bragg.
